Reverse Raffle Tickets on Sale

All members are expected to sell all allocated reverse raffle tickets and have them returned to the club by Saturday 4th of Feb.  Extra tickets are available if you can sell more.  This is our most important event for the year and helps raise money for the club to fair financially.

We need the support of our members.

Members are advised that there will be no training this Thursday due to the Australia Day Holiday.
 

Past Players "Legends" T20 Game"

The past players “legends” game is this Wednesday 25th from 6pm. All members and past players are invited to come along for a free bbq and watch the t-20 game between some past greats, veterans and senior players. The bar will be open from 6pm so bring the family and enjoy the game.

There will be commentary, player interviews and the video of the game will be shown on the TV in the rooms after the game. There is also a colour TV for the worst player on the ground to be given away (Robert klomp award) and a good old fashion slab raffle. The forecast is for a warm and fine night so make sure your are there.

Round Updates

1XI - Rd 8 v Glen Waverley Hawks
Glen Waverly batted first and posted a score of 8/255. Kit Moody had 3/46 and Paul Newman 3/79.  The boys got of to a flyer losing their first wicket at 99 and the second at 104.  The runs where chased down easily in the end.  After 57 overs a core of 5/260 was reached.  Brent Wiseman scored 71 Andy Hillman 54 and Paul Newman 43 no.
 
2XI - Rd 8 v Glen Waverley Hawks
Glen Waverley Hawks won the toss and elected to bat.  They posted 245 runs and we had 4 overs to bat.  Craig Woods got 3/40.  The second week started well but all of a sudden wickets started to fall.  At tea we had lost 8 wickets and had made 100 runs.  The boys were all out for 115.  Ben Naughtin made 32, Paul Semertzidis 25 and Sunny 20.
 
3XI - Rd 8 v Yarraleen
The boys won the toss and elected to bowl.  Nathan wanted to go for the outright.  Wickets started falling all over the place.  Yarraleen where all out for 90 runs after 47 overs.  Dave Carruthers and Nathan Oates opened the batting and at the end of the day where just behind Yarraleens score.  David Waterman got 4/20, Damien Ingham 3/18 and Daniel Martin 2/19.  This week Dave and Nathan passed Yarraleens score and went about setting a total.  St David's declared before tea with a score of 3/196.  Dave Carruthers 102 no and Nathan Oates 57.  Yarraleen went back into bat and managed to hold on with a score of 7/113.  Good win Oatesy.
 
4XI - Rd11 v Nunawading
The boys batted first a posted a score of 150 off 36 overs.  Jamie Madsen scored 39.  I wasn't to be the boys day as Nunawading made 8/159 with 1 over to go.  Jamie Madsen got 2/11 and Ron Garlepp 2/19.
 
4XI - Rd12 v East Box Hill
The boys scored 8/258 with Tim McMahon making 55, Tom Black 51no Daniel Madsen 51 and Jamie Madsen 41.  East Box Hill didn't even look to be in the game.  They finished 6/174.  Daniel Madsen got 2/32.
 
Vets Saint's - Rd 6 v Hawthorn CC
The boys batted first and made a score of 9/188.  Mark Mazzetti made 40no, Russell Sharp 43no and Andrew Clarkson 33. Hawthorn fell short making 8/167.  Russell Sharp got 2/10 and Darren Evans 2/20.  The Saint's are sitting on top of the ladder undefeated.
 
Vets Brownlow's - Rd 6 v Vermont
Like the Saint's the Brownlow's also batted first posting a score of 7/221.  Peter Barrett got 42no, David Hentschke 41no and Mick Rennison 42no.  In reply Vermont could only score 6/190.
